في فحص النظر هذا:
يتم إعطاء الشخص بطاقة صغيرة تحتوي على نص مكتوب بحيث تصبح أسطر النص أصغر كلما ذهبت إلى أسفل البطاقة.
يطلب من الشخص مسك بطاقة فحص النظر على بعد 35 سم من الوجه، ومن ثم قراءة ما هو مكتوب عليها بصوت عال.
يتم اختبار كلتا العينين في نفس الوقت.
