Children should be examined by a specialist doctor during childhood stages to detect any possibility of eye diseases.  And this matter is important if one of the relatives suffers from the presence of eye squint or laziness.

• The purpose of strabismus treatment
The purpose of strabismus treatment is the following:
•    Preserving the visual ability of the eye (i.e. protecting it from laziness)
•    Achieve the integrity of the eyes
•    Seeing with both eyes at the same time

 • Strabismus treatment methods
 Dr. Hantara explained:
The treatment of squint varies from case to case depending on the cause leading to the injury, as treatment may include: -

•    The use of medical glasses
•    Surgery to correct the position of the eye muscles
•    Cataract removal (opaque lens), if present
•    Correct any other defects that cause the eye to deviate from its normal position
•    In addition to treating lazy eye, by covering the healthy eye with the aim of improving the visual ability in the affected eye if necessary.

In light of a comprehensive eye examination of the inner and outer parts of the eye, the ophthalmologist decides the appropriate treatment for the case, whether it is optical, medical or surgical treatment, and the matter may require a treatment that combines two or more of these treatments together.
