The operation to enlarge and expand the eyes
Dr. Hantira, an honorary assistant professor, ophthalmology department, Umm Al-Qura University, Saudi Arabia, explained

That in this article, we will discuss the most important section in eye plastic surgery, which is enlarging the eyes.  What is the process, how is it performed, its types, costs, the best places to provide the service, and what you should look for before going through this experience.

What is the process of enlarging and expanding eyes?

Ocular enlargement or eye enlargement surgery is a cosmetic surgical procedure for the eye area and surrounding tissues from the eyelids or corners of the eye, performed by ophthalmologists with the aim of removing signs of aging and improving vision in the elderly.  These operations also contribute to improving the appearance of the eye and expanding its orbit in some cases, such as narrow Asian eyes.  It is important to know that it is a cosmetic procedure that is performed outside the eye, not inside it.

Eye enlargement operations are among the most famous and largest operations performed in the world of plastic surgery in general.  Where the American Society of Plastic Surgeons stated that about 170 thousand operations to enlarge the eyes by cosmetic eyelids were performed in 2015 and include all ages from 18 years to 65 years.

Types of eye augmentation and enlargement operations
The eye expansion operations and the methods used differ according to the symptoms that appear on each patient and lead to narrowing of the eye, and these symptoms include:

•    Black Halos

•    Sagging lower or upper eyelid

•    Wrinkles around the eyes

•    Sagging cheek and mid-face

•    The fall of the upper eyelid

Consequently, Dr. Hanatera clarified that many methods have emerged that treat each of the previous phenomena that lead to narrow eyes and the field of vision.  Below we will talk in a simple way about each method used, so that dear reader can get a complete picture of the operations to expand eyes before you decide to run the experiment.

First: the process of reshaping the excess skin:
This method aims to remove excess skin around the eye area to highlight the eye orbit and stimulate collagen formation with new skin cells free from wrinkles and sagging. Chemical peels or a laser device can be used in this method and it is performed under the influence of local anesthesia in the doctor’s office where some light infections appear as a result of peeling, which  They disappear within days of the operation.

 Second: the lower eyebrow lift:
With the passage of time, advanced age, and constant exposure to sunlight, the skin and the delicate tissues surrounding the eyes lose elasticity from collagen molecules.

In some cases, it is also noticed that the height of the eyebrows is uneven on both sides of the face.  Thus, we notice the drooping of the eyebrow on one or both sides, which gives a reflection of aging and the appearance of the eye as fatigue or anger.

Therefore, ophthalmologists resort to raising the eyebrow, which is done in two ways, the first by removing some of the excess skin from the forehead and tightening the lower eyebrow.  The second is the injection of plasma into the area around the eyebrow, hoping to restore the freshness of the skin and restore collagen material if possible.  One of the two methods is determined according to what the doctor sees and determines the cause of the condition
